You normally need a valid passport, academic transcripts/diplomas, language proficiency (English or Chinese), a completed application form, and sometimes a health certificate.

Yes. Many universities offer full English-taught programs (especially bachelor’s, master’s, and MBBS). Chinese-taught programs usually require HSK certification.

Intakes are usually September (Autumn) and some universities offer February/March (Spring). Apply at least 3–6 months in advance.

Bachelor’s: 4 years
Master’s: 2–3 years
Doctorate: 3–4 years
Language courses: 1–2 years

X1 Visa: for programs longer than 6 months (must change to residence permit after arrival)
X2 Visa: for short-term programs less than 6 months

Tuition varies: ¥20,000–60,000 RMB/year for most bachelor’s programs. Living costs range from ¥2,000–5,000 RMB/month depending on the city.
